September 3—Sharon Kay: What Are You Imaging? What keeps people going during hard times? While some people living in poverty conditions of the 1800s and The Great Depression committed suicide, many more rose above their circumstances. What was their secret? A hint: It's a 3-letter word ... but it isn't God. Kay has a master’s degree in psychology, and she was director of a crisis center for abused women and children when she discovered Unity at "The Pyramid" Unity in Houston. She began studying Unity principles, and in 2012 moved to Lee’s Summit to work full time in the Silent Unity prayer ministry. ________________________________
September 10—Rev. Jacquie Fernandez-Lenati: Peace Rules
As we approach Unity's World Day of Prayer, we turn our minds to the topic of peace. This year's theme is Peace in the Midst. Let us consider rules for peace so that peace may rule in our hearts, our homes, our communities, and in the world. We are being challenged to find our center in the midst of seeming chaos. The spiritual practice of finding peace right where you are, in the midst of any situation, has been the prescription of master teachers through the ages.
Fernandez-Lenati’s ministerial passion is to inspire individuals to discover and unleash their creative power. She works at Unity Worldwide Ministries, where she and her team produce spiritually provocative digital media. ________________________________
September 17—Rev. Lesley Miller: “Mirror, Mirror on the Wall…”
How do we see our Christ Nature when our limitations keep getting in the way? And what about seeing the Christ in others when they are often so darned hard to love? Let’s take a deeper dive into how Jesus teaches us to heal the shadow places in consciousness to find greater love for ourselves, others and God. Miller was ordained in 2016 after graduating from Unity Institute, and she currently serves as Associate Minister at Unity of Independence (MO). She lives in Lee’s Summit with two little dogs, Ollie and Bosco. ________________________________
September 24—Rev. Sandra Duncan: Embrace Life and Be Born Anew
How do we change and grow in consciousness and Be Born Anew?
Duncan completed all the programs to become a Licensed Unity Teacher when she received a higher calling. She entered Unity Institute & Seminary, graduated in January 2017 and was ordained in June. She works at Silent Unity, where she has been since 2014.
